About

Basically, I married a Marine and now I’m a relocated Texan living in sunny southern California on a Marine Corps base. We have two pre-teen girls, a spunky Whippet-Chihuahua mix puppy named Wyatt Earp and our newest edition is Cody the black hound-lab mix. I have been very active in my husbands job for a while now and love it. I have met so many amazingly inspirational other wives who’ve helped me along the way and wish to support and give back words of wisdom and tips and tricks to other Marine wives.

This blog is for wives and by wives.  From time to time I have guest bloggers on my page in wanting to share a bit of their life experiences and challenges.  If you have any questions or comments pleast feel free to ask, comment or contact me.

Happy reading,

Crystal Arriaga

  1. I would love to use the picture above in my newsletter. I am the bulletin editor for the South Marion–Villages Elks Lodge 2730 in Belleview Florida. We perform many services for veterans and the majority of our members are veterans. I would be happy to send you a copy of the newsletter if you give me an email address. Please let me know if I have your permission to use the photo. thank you so much. Susan Sansone

  2. I don’t know if you are a reader, but I ran across a novel that is coming out in January by Sam Taylor Mullens called Hasty Resolution. I got a chance to read it before its release and it is really good. If you are interested in a free copy when it is released, you can follow the author’s blog – samtaylormullens.blogspot.com

  3. Great blog! I noticed that there is no “recruiting” category. Recruiting/independent duty station is a BIG challenge for marine families. (Not to mention, the divorce rate during the 3 year billet is sky-high.) Perhaps you know some wives who would be willing to share their experiences, or I can ask at RS Atlanta for volunteers. : )

    • very true. recruiting, msg, reserves, ia, legal, etc is something I didn’t include. BBillets are very hard but so is a lot of the Marine Corps. I write from personal, first hand experiences whether through myself or someone very close to me who wants to share their story. If you know someone who’d love to do so, please let me know.
